At Quetzalli Publishing, we cherish the interplay between writing and other art forms.

ABOUT

By encouraging collaboration between writers and artists, we endeavor to weave tales that are not only visually captivating but also intellectually enriching. Our philosophy is that literature and art are two sides of a coin, and by joining forces, writers and artists can produce extraordinary works that resonate with readers worldwide. In essence, we believe that our collective efforts can generate something exceptional that will evoke emotion and intellect in readers' hearts and minds.

We hold the conviction that art has a magical ability to animate the written word, enabling it to reach a broader audience.

Quetzalcoatl, known as the ruler of heaven and earth, was often depicted as a feathered serpent, with long, striking feathers that symbolized his majesty and power. Our logo is a depiction of Quetzalcoatl's head, with those same magnificent feathers serving as a prominent feature. At Quetzalli Publishing, we're inspired by the sense of adventure that Quetzalcoatl and his feathers embody, and we strive to capture that same spirit in our stories.

Wondering what Quetzalli means?

It's a Nahuatl word that translates to "precious feather" – a reference to the beautiful feathers of the Aztec deity, Quetzalcoatl.

Our mission is to provide readers with a much-needed escape from the challenges of daily life, while also empowering them to overcome those challenges with courage and determination. We believe that stories have the power to inspire, uplift, and transport readers to new and exciting worlds, and we're committed to creating books that do just that.

A note from one of our founders:

Hey there, I'm Alex – one of the founders of Quetzalli Publishing. I act in a producer capacity. Part of my job is to take care of all the strategic, marketing, and administrative tasks so that my business partner Tyler can focus on what he does best – creating amazing stories.

But that's not all – I'm also an artist myself! I love drawing and painting, and I often create concept art for our stories. I also collaborate with other artists to help bring our stories to life.

Speaking of Tyler, he's our Chief Creative Officer, and he's responsible for the stories and content that we release. His creative mind is what gives our work quality and realism, and I'm always amazed by the worlds and characters he creates.

So that's a little bit about us – but if you want to know more, keep reading! I received my Bachelor of Science in Economics from Arizona State University and my Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. In my spare time, I enjoy painting figures and creating sets for our tabletop RPG campaigns.

As for Tyler, he's a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. When he's not writing, he's an avid reader, a frequent tabletop RPG game master, and a dancer.

His creative mind and my business background are the perfect combination to make sure that our books are not only amazing, but also successful. We both share a passion for storytelling, and we're dedicated to creating works that will captivate and inspire our readers.

Back to the 90s

Alex here! Growing up, I had a passion for drawing and painting. I wanted to be a comic book artist.

OUR STORY

Follow along on our journey! From our early beginnings to our most recent accomplishments, our timeline tells the story of how we got to where we are today.

present.

While I was finding myself through art, Tyler was discovering dance. Tyler is very modest about it, but he is talented at all forms of dance, including break dancing, hip hop, and even ballroom.

In high school, I spent everyday drawing and painting. I considered going to art school, but people told me it wasn't a realistic career choice, and I started to doubt myself. I even told myself that if I tried to make a career out of something I loved, I would end up hating it.

As I neared the end of my MBA course, I realized I wanted to follow my passion and use what I was learning to start a business. So in January 2020, I asked my best friend Tyler, one of the smartest and most talented people I knew, to join me.

90s

Tyler went to high school with me! We’re both from Texas. Same grade and everything, but we weren’t very close back then.

Instead of pursuing an art degree, I went to college for electrical engineering, but I quickly realized it wasn't what I wanted to do.

2011

At the same time, Tyler started an industrial engineering degree.

2012 - 2014

After taking a two-year break from college and living in Bolivia, I learned that happiness doesn't require much.

In 2018 I decided to go back to school to pursue my MBA. Halfway through my program, I realized that I didn’t want to be middle management forever. I had this thought, “why can’t I use what I’m learning for me? What can I offer the world? What will make me happy?”

Tyler was experiencing something similar. During college he started to lose his connection to the things that made him happy.

2018

While I was asking myself those questions, Tyler began to try to reconnect with dancing, and even picked up new hobbies, such as table top role playing games, that would allow him to express his creativity.

Together, we have a dream of creating something special. We want people to live in our dream, even if it's just for half an hour at a time.
